The photo is believed to have been taken by “Opportunity” one of the two Mars Exploration Rovers currently exploring the surface of the red planet. The leak was released on the internet by a former NASA worker who had been working close with the Mars Exploration Rover Mission team as a janitor/pastry chef. Hubbardston had become curious whilst overhearing discussion on what was known as the “cheese discovery”. When the rest of the team were busy indulging in light pastry based finger buffet, Hubbardston was able to procure documents about the secret “cheese discovery” The documents, also released online claim The Rover Opportunity took the image whilst facing west from the Erebus Crater in the Eastern Basin on sol 654 (November 4, 2005.) Further details confirm that the object appears to be a of a cheese type nature, similar to a wheel of blue cheese, possibly stilton. Opportunity took the opportunity (sorry couldn’t resist the pun) to claim specimens of the cheese that will be brought back to earth for analysis and possible consumption at NASA’s new years bash. NASA have rebuked the revelations as fantasy. They argue that Hubbardston is delusional. “He applied to be a scientist within the organization over four hundred times” said a NASA spokesman, “we eventually had to give him a job to cut down on administration costs of filing his applications so we made him a janitor come pastry chef. His janitoring leaves a lot to be desired but we can’t fault his pastry cheffing skills, but pastry isn’t really what NASA is about. He was later released from his employment with NASA after an incident with a bagel.” Related Articles:
