The UK government stated that “stories and legend from the streets of a battle torn city should be taken with a grain of salt” they continue to believe that “this so called messiah” is believed to one of or maybe more than one of Saddam’s former look-alikes. However it appears some Baghdad locals already believe in the new religion, what the English version of Al Jazeera calls “Husseinity”. The number one selling item at Baghdad markets this week has been golden noose necklaces. Like Christianity’s symbol became the cross because of Jesus’ crucifixion, the Husseinity symbol appears to be the noose from which their prophet died. The US government still claims the reports to be farcical. Although, it has been reported that even US armed forces have spotted the so called “returned prophet”. In a leaked US Army report, one soldier claims “I identify the man as the former leader Saddam Hussein, although confused I shoot directly upon him, he somehow is unaffected by attack and continues to walk away and over the street out of sight” The UK’s Prime Minister Tony Blair has refused to comment on the matter, although sources close to the PM say he is finding the story “somewhat amusing, yet also foreboding” Iraqi Civil War falls deeper in crisis over Saddams alleged return from the grave U.N.
