Dartmoor, the scene of Wolf attacksThe local Devon police released a statement claiming a total of eight people have been attacked by wolves, of which one was killed, in the past week upon Dartmoor and Exmoor. The police plead for pubic calm and encourage a voluntary curfew after nightfall.

Seven of the attacked people are in hospital with injuries varying from first degree lacerations to broken toe nail. They have all been questioned and it appears their attacker was in deed a wolf. Although description of the animal varied, the police are not discounting that there may have been more than one wolf involved. The one man who was not able to speak of his experience was Dartmoor farmer Michael Loddiswell, 61. Loddiswell's body was found early Tuesday morning ravaged with "lupine characterised wounds". By his body lay an unloaded shotgun and a disassembled Corby trouser press. The foreign secretary was quick to point out that wolves had not been native to the United Kingdom for centuries and the government believes they may have been smuggled into the country by terrorists
