The Cheese Bandits have been pilfering cheese shops and factories for 14 years. DI Double-Gloucester has been on their trail ever since their very first heist in Liskeard, Cornwall. In a recent heist it was claimed by bystanders that one of the trio had been caught and taken in to custody. Conversely, the local DeKalb County and Tennessee State Police have refused such a claim, insisting that three cheese thieves are still at large. However, today in the township of Vienna, Wisconsin, it seems the infamous Cheese Bandits struck again, this time as just a duo. A popular cheese shop, just off the interstate was raided in the late hours of last night at 4:30pm. It is estimated the thieves took off with approximately 40lbs of fine quality cheeses, as well as a bamboo cheeseboard and knife collectors set. DI Double-Gloucester has refused to comment, although he did relay that the investigation had been taken up by United States FBI and CIA. In an emotional concluding statement to a packed press conference room in Madison City Hall DI Double-Gloucester remarked "The time is coming, my life long hunt for the infamous Cheese Bandits is coming to an end. They can not escape their destiny; they must face Double-Gloucester again" The comment alludes to the only previous time when DI Double-Gloucester was face to face with the notorious cheese thieving gang, in 1995 in Middlesborough, England. The inspector had the gang barracked in a terrace house. However in the commotion of a nearby residence needing police assistance for an incident involving a stereo system and a can of beer, the Bandits managed to escape. All DI Double-Gloucester discovered when entering the house of their holdup were the remains of vast quantities of cream crackers and crumbs of Wensleydale.
