Ron Boss made his name as a savvy and workmanlike owner of a financial firm. After a huge financial success in stocks and bonds in the late 1980s he put his money and his efforts into Football.
As a lifelong fan, he tried, yet failed to take a controlling stake in Hereford United. He then put his money into producing a Cable television show for the lower leagues of English football. With his new assistant Phillip Quizzar, he founded Sportsview, and Ron has never looked back since, except when he feels he might be being followed. Interesting Trivia: His family set him up to appear on the BBC’s Noel Edmond’s House Party in the live hidden camera NTV bit, but he managed to get his lawyers to place an instant ‘technical difficulties’ interlude, blocking the broadcast. Eventually a ruffled Edmonds skipped the NTV section all together and went straight to DJ Bruno Brookes in the gunge tank section.
Claim to Fame: Used his lawyers to beat Noel Edmonds and the BBC not to show footage of him performing a crossword on hidden NTV cameras.
Greatest Professional Achievement: Created Sportsview, a cable channel sports show that gave lower league football fans what they wanted - highlights from last week’s action. |
