David Cheddar, one of our roving reporters, attended Oxford university during the 1980s. However Dave wasn't offered a place there, he hadn't even sat A levels or passed any O levels. He just turned up everyday, joining classes, taking notes etc.  In the end he was just plain harassing lecturers, students and admin staff alike. 

The police were called.  After a restraining order was passed barring him from being nearer than 50M from any part of the Oxford campus he moved to Cambridge where the whole sorry saga happened all over again.  After the resulting prison sentence he moved to Hull where he went on a local night-school course in journalism.  Having acquired a National Vocational Qualification he marched up to us and said "Give me a job."  We looked at the gormless wee sod's sad little face and said, "Go on then." Dave has since proved his worth with many reports, his greatest yet, the CT Exclusive Saddam Hussein New Top Dog in US Penal System
