Meet The Team
Bernard Bradshaw

Bern and Ferenc PuskasBernard Bradshaw was already known to some in local football circles in Yorkshire when his parents moved to Spain. Many thought that would be the last they'd see of him. They were wrong. His football adventures continued and he was soon given an apprenticeship with Real Madrid. This was not just any old Real Madrid squad, this was THE squad. Bradshaw played with, and became close friends with the likes of Ferenc Puskas, Alfredo Di Stefano and Francisco Gento.

His career exploded with an incredible debut season that saw the defensive midfielder not only control the midfield but move forward to create many goals. Most of the goals he created were not from passes but from woodwork deflections. In fact Bernard Bradshaw still holds the record for most times a player has hit the woodwork in one season with 218 strikes of the goal frame. He also holds the FIFA record for one game; hitting the post 42 times against Real Bettis. After a terrible sherry induced injury Bernard returned home.

Bernard BradshawHe eventually made it to his home club's reserve team and had his moment of glory in the 1976 Texaco Reserves Cup Final, scoring the winning goal for Bradford Reserves. His career didn't last much longer and a career in pie making was to fill his time. That was until a chance meeting at a Swansea vs Bradford game where he met Terry Anderson. Their friendship blossomed and they eventually landed a job as pundits together on Sportsview with Michael Warrick.

Interesting Trivia: Bernard starred in a three part pilot run of a Spanish sitcom called "cuál es el voltaje" (what's the voltage?) Every episode would involve Bernard inserting a British electrical device and asking his butler "what's the voltage?" – it wasn't commissioned past its initial three episode pilot.

Claim to Fame: Has made a venison pie for Brian Blessed and knows Terry Anderson

Greatest Professional Achievement: Played on the same team as international football legend Ferenc Puskas
