Mel Gibson Mel Gibson today made a press release declaring his wishes to show the world of his love of all people of all faith. The release is an obvious attempt to calm anti-semetic talk regarding his hit movie “The Passion of Christ”. The movie, which has been out on DVD since August, is expected to be a popular religious gift this Christmas. Gibson has constantly, since its release, tried to dispel rumours that the movie has anti-semitic undertones.

Many Jewish groups have declared the film an attack on Judaism, claiming the movie does nothing to help with the image of Jews in the world. However, some Anti-Semitic groups feel the movie did not go far enough, Chad Walterstaff, leader of the right wing anti semitic movement, People Against Jews, believes the movie is too pro Jewish. He claims, “Not once in the movie do you really see any of the Jews stealing money, and hoarding it in their corrupt banking systems, if anything I think the Romans are depicted far worse.”

It certainly is an interesting point, considering the outcry from pro-jewish groups regarding the content, there really wasn’t much from the pro-roman fringe. Alan Flaximus (formerly Alan Jones) is the leader of the New-Roman Movement; he believes the movie is clearly anti-Roman. “I don’t think it is a good message to send to people, the movie depicts the Romans as barbarians, they were a very educated, civilized people.” Flaximus was also discouraged this week, as current Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi tried to distance his current administration from that of the Roman Empire. He commented, “At this time of celebration of Christ, I would like to distance my administration from that of the Roman occupation of Italy. Roman philosophy is in direct conflict with my beliefs regarding Christ, although I do believe in a good Library system.” The Prime Minister went onto to address the Jewish population too; “We are a very pro Jewish nation, with great ties with the Jewish people. That little incident in the 1930s and 40s was nothing to do with this current government or our modern Italy.”

Mel Gibson is making the most of the media attraction around Christmas and his movie. It is expected to be a very popular gift, and he hopes that “everyone will buy it… Jews, Muslims, Christians, can all come together with a bowl of popcorn. That’s my vision of peace this Christmas.”

Gibson has also released “Passion of Christ Popcorn”, in the shape of the cross. The popcorn has been made using Genetically Modified corn kernels.

Also on the T-shirt he wears in the photo release, Gibson claims his love of cats. This is in direct connection with his new movie. “Feline Frenzy”

The cheese times is proud to announce exclusively that “Feline Frenzy” is currently in production in Austria. It is set be another blockbuster that might cause ripples of disapproval. It’s a B-movie styled take on World War II, where Nazi cats take over Europe. The Furred Reich wreaks havoc on all and sundry. Gibson is hoping the T-shirt might put off any further allegations of anti-semitism. The new movie although not condoning, does depict the genocide of Jews by use of catnip.
