Liverpool, under the inspired leadership of Gerald Houlier are currently making a late dash up the table, now in second and battling for one of the Champions League places. Their campaign has been helped by the inevitable capture of Liverpool supporter, and ex Leicester City star striker Heskey. Heskey now establishing himself as a key member of the international scene made his big money move, in a deal that eventually cost Liverpool over £14m including wage fees.
But the reasons behind the move are not entirely what it seems, yes he is a life long liverpool fan, and yes he needed a bigger challenge than that was being offerred at his former Leicestershire club. However the Cheese Times have discovered that Heskey main incentive had been biscuits. Houllier's side's dramatic rise up the table, has coincided with a dietry dream move. Half time biscuits, and not just any old biscuits but fine quality beligian chocolate supreme luxury selection pack biscuits. "There more than your average bourbon lets say that," remarked Jamie Redknapp, in the recent Cheese Times press conference. Apparently Martin O'Niell, renowed for his tactical brilliance has a very poor buiscuit policy in comparison, Heskey quoted, "At Leciester it was Rich Teas and Custard Creams." This is Michael Warrick eating a Penguin (that's the biscuit not the bird) for The Cheese Times, now be on your way. |
